UKRAINIAN CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES NEED HELP!

OMNI-Net Participation at the EUROCAT Registry Leaders Meeting 2024

The EUROCAT Registry Leaders Meeting 2024 took place on 4th and 5th June at the Joint Research Centre in Seville, Spain. OMNI-Net Ukraine Birth Defects Program Registry (OMNI-Net UBDP) was represented at the meeting by Diana Akhmedzhanova, information specialist (Khmelnytskyi). During the meeting, the issues of data management, monitoring and quality, pan-European trends and clusters of congenital anomalies, the results of conducted research and planning of further activities of the EUROCAT network and Association were discussed.

At the meeting, the representative of OMNI-Net UBDP shared the updates on its activities and initiatives: webinars and practicums on Dysmorphology, children development during war, EU-Ukraine Webinar Series on Spinal Dysraphisms (joint series with ERN eUROGEN and IFSBH), and Help Us Help Them initiative – to provide urinary catheters to children with spina bifida.

OMNI-Net UBDP is striving to continue their initiatives and population-based surveillance under increasingly difficult war circumstances. In this context, they are appealing for personal donations from colleagues and promotion of the appeal among others.

Note: Ukraine has been represented in the EUROCAT network since 2007 by the OMNI-Net UBDP – the only Registry from the post-Soviet countries, whose high-quality data enabled the OMNI-Net Registry to obtain full membership in the organization already in 2008.
