UKRAINIAN CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES NEED HELP!

Participation in the 45th Annual Meeting of ICBDSR

The 45th Annual Meeting of the International Clearinghouse for Birth Defects Surveillance and Research (ICBDSR) was held in Prague (Czech Republic) on September 30 – October 4, 2018.

OMNI-Net conducts population monitoring of congenital anomalies according to international standards and has been a member of ICBDSR since 2000 and since that year annually submits its data to this organization. Since this year, ICBDSR has put its database on the Internet and now it is possible to compare the data on congenital anomalies among the ICBDSR members online.

At the meeting, OMNI-Net was represented by Serhiy Lapchenko (OMNI-Net Information Coordinator and Data Manager; computer system analyst of the Volyn Regional Children’s Territorial Medical Center, Lutsk, Ukraine). For the attention of the participants of the meeting, OMNI-Net presented its “Radiation, Neural Tube Defects and Microcephaly” poster created on the basis of the article “Chornobyl, Radiation, Neural Tube Defects, and Microcephaly” by Prof. Wladimir Wertelecki with co-authors and published in the “European Journal of Medical Genetics”.
